Although I understand what you are saying, this was not a convention to gather potential investors or something similarly as serious. It was a festivle for the, as Blane said above, 18 year old individuals that play EVE that wanted to go to Iceland for a fan based celebration/recognition. So I see why things were more lax then one may have expected.

That wasn't an act
Also, CCP is a privately held company so I do not think they are worried about rocking the boat

I was about to be the first, but then I decided I wanted to be somewhat serious. So there I quoted you

Edit: Oh yeah I find it infinitely amusing that they censor the word on their forums if they feel its alright for fanfest.
But is there not an age requirement for Fan Fest?

Originally by: Obsidian Hawk Ok, op does have a point. Casual use of profanity during a presentation is not acceptable. I have done several presentations myself and when being watched by peers I have to make sure I am being professional in language and presentation.
As the op pointed out, families who could not go to fan fest do watch this on the internet, and the tone and presentation should be made for all audiences.
Oh well though, we are human and we mess up on occasion.
<3 you ccp!
True, but are the "fans" truely "peers"?
This is a non-professional convention with an age limit, that is for entertainment, that just so happens to involved a few presentations that may have more business-like aspects.
Why do they put the age limit on Fan Fest? My guess is that they want to be able to hang loose and have a good time shooting the **** with their fans. Not being all uptight and suitlike.
Would you expect them to hold their language at the drinking session afterwards? If not then why do they need to be uptight while presenting their boring ass power point slides?
